Founded in June 2020 by Ben Smith, Pinstripes to Camo began as a blog. By October 2020, the PTC blog was being published as a weekly outdoor column in local newspapers. In October 2021, the PTC Podcast was born with the help of Hunter McCool. The show rocked along into 2022 before adding another full-time member, Matt Langford. In June 2022, the PTC Blog was named the #1 Weekly Sports Column in the State of Mississippi by the Mississippi Press Association. In July 2022, Pinstripes to Camo became an LLC and launched its first ever product line of hats. The PTC trio continued to host various guests from the outdoor community for weekly podcasts, as well as attend outdoor shows throughout the state of Mississippi. The PTC blog is now featured in multiple newspapers throughout Mississippi and serves as the top outdoor column of the Pine Belt Area.
In March 2024, the show was rebranded and named “Southern Drawl” in an effort to reach a wider audience. The PTC blog still remains and the Southern Drawl Podcast releases weekly shows with various people from the outdoor community.
